Jill Sherensky
Managing Partner
Jill is a founder and managing partner of Denny Mountain Media, where she keeps the company's wheels turning. Her viewpoint (if not her title) has always been editorial; she has worked extensively in marketing communications, corporate web publishing, and public-sector content development in the U.S. as well as in Europe. Jill holds an MBA in international business and an MA in international studies from the University of Washington. When not at the virtual Denny Mountain, Jill can be found skiing on the real Denny Mountain.
Patrick Batson
Managing Partner
Patrick is a founder and managing partner of Denny Mountain Media. His desk is where the buck stops. In his former life as an editor, website manager, and marketing communications manager for Microsoft, Patrick managed strategy, content, and production for a number of Microsoft websites; he also managed strategy and communications for employee programs and initiatives. Patrick has written extensively for business textbooks and has taught business communications at the college level. Though he holds a BA in world religions and an MBA in marketing, Patrick was most profoundly influenced by Frank Zappa and Matt Groening.
Barry Long
Director, Marketing and Client Services
Barry has more than 15 years experience in both project and marketing management. He has a successful public speaking and training company and has worked with Microsoft for almost 10 years as both a contractor and vendor. Barry's Microsoft experience includes consulting for the Site Builder Network, MSCOM, MSDN, and TechNet, as well as presenting overseas trainings for Microsoft international subsidiaries. Born on the Washington State University campus, Barry labored in Seattle's grunge industry for several years before finally cutting his hair and getting to work. He is an extreme sports wheelchair athlete and loves taking his wife and their twins to Seattle Mariners games.
Brandi Martin
Senior Production Manager
Brandi has nearly a decade of web management experience. A former project manager at IBM and web communications manager, producer, production manager, and site manager at Microsoft, she has managed Microsoft sites such as the Download Center, Investor Relations, MSDN, Events & Webcasts, Microsoft Partner sites (CTEC, MCT, MCP), About Microsoft, and the Microsoft.com Home page (the most highly trafficked business site in the world). She has a great deal of experience managing web projects (with many site launches to her name) and teams of designers, producers, and editors (including the Microsoft Emergency Response production team). An inveterate surfer and beach-lounger, Brandi has accomplished nearly all of the above while on or in the warmer currents of the Pacific Ocean.
Brenda Potts
Project Manager
Brenda has more than 20 years of experience in publishing and visual communications, the last half of it devoted to designing, developing, and managing websites. Her Microsoft experience includes 12 years as a full-time employee working in design and production for Windows Client User Assistance, followed by three more years as a contract program manager in the Microsoft Developer Platform and Evangelism group. Brenda joined Denny Mountain Media in 2008. Away from work, she’s most likely to be far away, traveling abroad or touring the country on motorcycle with her husband, with whom she also owns and operates a motorcycle rental business.
Debbie Fynn
Digital Marketing Manager
Debbie joined Denny Mountain Media in 2008 after seven years at Microsoft, where she led major web projects on the MSN Home page, Microsoft.com home page, Security site, and Support site. She worked in a variety of job roles, including production manager, localization project manager, and lead site manager. At Denny Mountain Media, Debbie applies her expertise in social media, search engine optimization, business intelligence, and the web project lifecycle to the rapidly growing digital marketing space. She began her more than 10 years of web experience as a technical writer at the Vancouver, British Columbia, startup, NCompass Labs (since acquired by Microsoft). Debbie’s startling skill behind the wheel of a forklift gives her a mortal lock on the job for director of Denny Mountain Media warehouse operations, should we ever obtain a warehouse.
Mia Buse-Stone
Office Manager
Mia has 17 years of experience in coordinating and executing office operations. Active in all aspects of accounting for Denny Mountain Media, she keeps the financial wheel spinning. Her background includes experience in public relations, expertise in international trade, and work in the telecommunications industry. A native of Waterville in Central Washington, Mia earned a BS in communications from Eastern Washington University. Mia is the bedrock of Denny Mountain Media, and quite rightly revered.
Patrick Shaw
Project/Account Manager
Patrick has more than 20 years experience in the technology sector as a consultant and project manager. Prior to joining Denny Mountain Media, he led a cross-functional team that provided custom website and database solutions for local agencies and managed many of its projects. In addition to completing project management coursework at NetDesk, Patrick has a degree in English literature from Seattle University. He has presented at conferences, including NTEN and the Washington State Nonprofit Conference, and occasionally serves as a guest lecturer in the Seattle University Executive Master of Nonprofit Leadership program. An avid runner, Patrick also roasts his own coffee and recently started making homemade beer.
Ruth Twentey
Executive Administrator
Ruth has a BA in English from the University of Michigan, is a certified paralegal, and excels at adeptly herding Denny Mountain Media's occasionally wily cats. Coincidentally, both Ruth and Denny Mountain Media business process manager Jean Vorhies hail from East Grand Rapids, Michigan. Her ideal vacation is to visit the family cottage in northern Michigan. Did we mention she's from Michigan?
